Phone firms warn of£60-a-song bill by mobile networks
Mobile phone users in the UK are being charged as much as £60 to download a single song, writesThe Daily Record.
Experts said the rip-off prices are putting customers off using music download sites.
Ben Wood, of technology analysts Gartner, said: "People are getting bitten by the high charges. They may only have surfed a few sites and downloaded a few items but their mobile phone bill will have doubled."
This week, retailers warned people not to download music via mobile networks. A Carphone Warehouse spokesman said: "It is a complete no-no. It can take a long time and tends to be expensive. I would recommend using a PC."
