Mobile and digital music businesses convene at MIDEM

With optimism in the air, more than 9,000 of the world's key players from across the music industry are expected to arrive in the French Riviera resort of Cannes -- over three percent more than last year -- for the MIDEM, which opens Sunday and runs until January 27.

This year will also see many more movers and shakers from the new technology and digital online music world, eager to snap up musical content for the increasingly popular new services that range from ringtones and wallpaper to video clips and play stations.
