"Gran Vals", by Francisco Tarrega - which inspired the (annoying) Nokia tune
Slow day today for ringtone or music phone news, so here's something from the vaults, and lovely to listen to, "Gran Vals", or the original music that inspired the standard ringtone for Nokia, better known as the (annoying) "Nokia tune".
It's probably the most often played piece of music in the world but few people know what it is.
The famous Nokia ringtone is actually a 13 note rendering of Francisco Tarrega's masterpiece, "Gran Vals". Tarrega was a 19th-century Spanish musician considered by aficionados to be the father of the modern classical guitar.
