Car door ringtone and text alert

This isn't about your cell phone, but how about a ringtone or a text message sent from your car door? Read on - from Régine's near near future coverage of Ars Electronica 2004.

"For this hilarious installation, Barbara reprogrammed the alarm systems of 10 cars in the Cluj area, replacing the usual alarm sound with songs and texts.

The car exhibited here was silent till you kicked it, tried to open one of its door or shaked it, etc. According to the kind of bad treatement you inflicted on it, the alarm "sang" the same tune in a different way.

The tune was a song from the beginning of the nineties which goes "I'm too sexy for my car."
