Downloads of KDDI ‘chaku uta' ringtones top 100 million

KDDI Corp announced Friday that downloads of its "chaku uta" ring tone service for "au" brand mobile phone handsets topped 100 million Monday, reports Japan Today via MocoNews.

"Users can enjoy a 30-second clip of song in the "chaku uta" service, which started in December 2002 for subscribers of third-generation mobile phones capable of high-speed and large-capacity data transmissions."
