Nokia, Taito Teaming Up in Mobile Phone Karaoke

Nokia Corp and Taito Corp will collaborate in providing karaoke functions to mobile-phone handsets sold overseas. The Taito system enables mobile phones to receive karaoke music and display the lyrics on their screens. Words change color with the progress of the song, reports NeAsia.

Other Karaoke applications have developed around the world, Irish company Alatoo and a Japanese ringtone provider allows subscribers to 'practice' songs. This service has been widened to include images, and users can send up to four photos which can be 'watched' while the audio clip is playing. cf karaoke ringtones, in Ringtonia.com.
