New marketing tool in the UK

index_qr.jpg QR (Quick Response) turns a camera phone into a barcode scanner. UTalk Marketing reports.

"This allows encoded information to be delivered, including URLs that can connect direct to the mobile internet, alleviating the tedious task of entering data into a mobile phone.

Codes that store messages, addresses and URLs are becoming increasingly common in magazines as well as on business cards and advertisements in Japan.

... The UK’s first QR Code at will be launched at London’s flagship HMV store as part of a new marketing campaign for the DVD release of ‘28 Weeks Later’.

Twentieth Century Fox has designed a unique QR code containing messaging and a secret URL that links to exclusive content from the film, to coincide with its release on DVD."

Me-On-TV. User-Gen Mobile Video Service

meon.gif Ericsson has launched a white label user-generated video service dubbed Me-On-TV , which will be network and device independent and allow people to upload, publish and share live or pre-recorded video content via any mobile device. Moco News reports.

"People will be able to transmit the content to websites, TV broadcasts or a community, and the service allows broadcasters, internet sites, and mobile network operators to directly manage live and on demand content via state-of-the-art editorial management tools.

Ericcson hopes to sell the hosted service to broadcasters, internet sites and network operators, and has already signed up Endemol - UK's largest 'non-broadcaster' producer of entertainment formats."

index_01.gif A new service called Thrrum Visual Browser sounds very much like MMS & Buy, blogged about a few days ago, MMS & Buy is a service launched by a music label that enables music fans to get information about music, simply by taking a photo of the CD case and sending it via MMS to their server.

Thrrum Visual Browser enables camera phone users to search and browse relevant information by simply pointing their camera phones at products and other objects of interest in their physical environment.

Nude photography taken with camera phone

mobile-nude-photography.jpg Guido Karp, born in 1963 in Mayen, Eifel (Germany) and professional photographer, is changing the image of today’s mobile camera phone.

At the IFA 2007 Guido Karp exhibits his experience with his mobile phone and showcased an impressive series of photos that are part of a series that will be available starting October 2007 in his book “The Nudes - Photography with a Cyber-shot mobile”.

Guido Karp used a Sony Ericsson K810i Cyber-shot mobile phone and printed large format photos without any photo correction.
