Cameraphones Banned In Polling Precincts In The Philippines

The Commission on Elections in the Philippines banned the use of mobile phones and digital cameras by votes inside polling precincts in the upcoming mid-term elections on May 14, with the aim of preventing the buying and selling of votes. AllHeadlineNews reports.

"... The Comelec chief told reporters, "You can easily take a photo of your ballot as part of the vote buying. This voter may be equipped with a camera then show a photo once he steps out and say 'This is how I cast my vote.' And that would be the basis of the payment."
