YouTube Is Considering Offline Video Distribution, Services for Rights Holders
According to the WSJ, video sharing website Youtube is considering bundling some of its videos and distributing them offline, possibly on television, a YouTube executive said Monday at the Consumer Electronics Show.
"The company also is developing a "Claim Your Content" initiative that would make it easier for rights holders to control their video properties. The initiative would allow a range of options, including blocking content or charging for it.
YouTube also is trying to figure out ways to draw gaming communities more fully into its video communities, such as encouraging more gamers to post entertaining clips of themselves at their consoles."
