Video Handsets Mostly Just Used as Phones

According to the The New York Times, 28 per cent of cell phones now in use can show video, but only 1 per cent of cell phone users watch videos on their cell phones.

"Many, many people just use their phones as a device to make and receive calls," said Drew Hull, research director for mobile content at the NPD Group who conducted the survey. Until the price of video service drops, he said, "they still have no interest in paying extra for that service."
