Neil Morrissey goes mobile
Actor Neil Morrissey is set to launch of a comedy show tailor-made for viewing on mobile phones, informs The Guardian.
The shows will star Morrissey himself as well as other comedians.
The actor's production company, Tangent Productions, has formed a joint venture with digital television company etv to create content for mobiles and new TV platforms. Called Screaming Talent, the joint venture intends to work with artists to produce multimedia content, in which the talent will share in revenue from projects. The emphasis will be on comedy, music and animated content.
Artists signed include Kevin Godley, music video director and former member of rock band 10cc, who is to develop a mobile version of an MTV-style music show and drama content.
Morrissey becomes the latest actor/comedian to extend their talents to multimedia platforms, following the likes of Ricky Gervais's podcasts and more recently the signing of Frank Skinner and David Baddiel to present a World Cup podcast.
