CBS to Offer Wireless Video and Picture Alerts
CBS Corp. introduced a subscription wireless media service Monday that promises to be the first to send breaking news alerts and entertainment headlines directly to a subscriber's cell phone, not only through text messages but also with still photos and video clips, reports Reuters.
The "CBS Alerts" which will be called "CBS News TO GO" and "ET TO GO," will be available beginning next week.
Subscribers will receive up to five daily alerts through text messages and accompanying pictures and video to video-capable mobile phones. The twin services will be available later this week and are the first in CBS' broader initiative to sell wireless content to consumers.
