Meteo Sam, your virtual mobile weather caster

meteoman.jpg A virtual weather man was launched in Madrid yesterday. He will report the weather on TV, Internet and on cell phones, reports CanalPDA.

"Meteo Sam is a 3D character who will broadcast weather information in three languages (Catalan, Spanish and English).

"Sam's creators are already thinking about cloning him, in order to apply the concept to other information that can be automated, such as traffic reports. They also intend to give Sam a female colleague, who will add the weather touch to the ranks of virtual newscasters.

..."Still according to CanalPDA, "Sam is a 3D character with 78.000 bones, who can modulate his voice, generate movements according to the data he's speaking and even changing clothes, for broadcasting from ski slopes or beaches." ananova.jpeg

Ananova (picture right), is probaly the most famous virtual newscaster who made her appearance on the Internet in 2000. A green-haired, wide-eyed 28-year-old who seduced the planet in her first newscast with "Hello, world! Here is the news . . . and this time it's personal.". If she was still around, hopefully she would have gone mobile too.
