Endemol targets mobile market

Big Brother producer Endemol is to break into the mobile TV phone market with the launch of two "TV channels" tailored specifically to the "third screen", reports The Guardian.

The company, which already supplies comedy clips to 3 in the UK, said it would launch an extreme reality channel featuring the "bizzarrest and weirdest" video clips and a comedy channel later this year.

They also announced that they would launch a new mobile division in the UK to produce original mobile content. The first fruits of that division will be a new game called Ten for Ten, in which users face a series of quick-fire video questions for the chance to win £10.

"Endemol Mobile is a resource designed to create tailormade content for both mobile and broadband. We plan to establish this new division in the UK first and then replicate it across the international group," said Endemol creative chief, Peter Bazelgette.
