"Corrective action" taken against doctor for camphone shot

salledop.gif St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Aberdeen, South Dakota, said it has taken "corrective action" against a doctor accused of taking cameraphone shot photo of a patient during an operation.

"Sanchez used a cell phone to take a photo that showed another doctor moving a patient's leg during surgery. He said the photo was meant to poke fun at Dr. David Lonbaken, his friend and partner.

Prosecutors said there was no evidence that any laws were broken.

Hospital spokeswoman Ellen Lee says the hospital has reviewed its policies and banned cell phones from surgical suites and won't allow photographs during surgeries unless approved by the patient."
