RFID based system for preventing medical errors

Akita University Hospital introduced RFID based system for preventing medical errors.

Patients and injection solution got RFID'd and the tags are read by PDAs. Bad "patient-injection solution" combinations are detected by the system. Additionally nurses wear RIFD wrist bands and the system records which nurses applied which injection solution to which patients.
