The Olympic Games on mobile phones

olympicsl.jpg The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has begun the process of inviting bids for the rights to broadcast TV images of the Olympic Games in 2006 and 2008 on mobile phones, according to heise online.

"The Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin and the Olympic Summer Games 2008 in Beijing are to be broadcast to mobile phone users both as live images and as video on demand (or alternatively as video summaries) -- the requisite licenses will include both the livestream and the on-demand rights."
