Police appeal for bombings footage

flowerstube981.jpg Detectives have issued an urgent appeal to the public for any photographs, video footage or mobile phone images taken in the aftermath of the London bombings, reports Ananova.

"Deputy Assistant Commissioner Brian Paddick said: "We believe these images may contain vital information to assist us in the investigation."

He urged anyone with pictures from the scenes of the attacks to e-mail the images to Scotland Yard at: images@met.police.uk".

Reuters reports that investigators have also asked mobile phone and Internet companies to store the content of voicemails, e-mails and SMS text messages that were in their systems on the day of the London bombings, a police source told Reuters.

The Register reports that UK authorities have begun contacting ISPs as they looks for leads on the bombers. El Reg has received reports that individuals trying to cancel accounts with providers have been told they can‘t, as security services have already told providers to freeze all accounts.
