mCode
Nextcode is launching mCode, a powerful 2D barcode technology for camera phone. Using the mCode technology, consumers can gain one-click access to mobile content from printed materials, computer screens and other media.
The mCode format was created for use in advertising and mobile marketing. It incorporates a data structure enabling mCodes to be printed in less than one-third the space of other 2-D codes. The mCode format also is highly flexible in terms of shape and size, allowing advertisers to easily meet printing and layout requirements.
The technology also enables custom code designs that can incorporate branding, graphics, color, and unique shapes. As a result, codes can become an integral part of advertising.
The mCode format is compatible with any camera phone without the addition of macro lenses or other hardware, and can be used effectively in poor lighting and other adverse conditions. Users can read mCodes either with Nextcode's client application or using server-based decoding software.
