U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless announce MMS interoperability
After AT&T Wireless and Cingular Wireless, announced the first agreement to offer intercarrier Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) last August, now U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless are offering interoperable MMS, meaning that U.S. Cellular subscribers with cameraphones can now exchange pictures and other types of multimedia messages with Verizon Wireless subscribers. Cross-carrier MMS is viewed as an essential element for the widespread adoption of MMS.
