Girls 'at risk' from pxt cellphone use
After a successful campaign to deal with cellphone bullying, the Internet Safety Group in New Zealand is considering a campaign to educate young people about the risks involved in pxt cellphone use, reports Stuff.nz.
"Girls as young as 12 may be putting themselves at risk by sending revealing photos of themselves or their friends over pxt cellphones.
The girls may not realise the long-term consequences of their actions, Internet Safety Group director Liz Butterfield said.
"We need to look at the primary school age group as many of them have the same access to a range of features on cellphones as teenagers," she said.
"Younger users may not have the same understanding of the risks of sending pxt photos."
