Motorola Teams With MasterCard On Wallet Phones
Phone Scoop reports that Motorola announced that it will conduct a field trial of mobile phones enabled with MasterCard® PayPass™, a new "contactless" payment option based on Near Field Communications (NFC) technology.
"The system is similar to the FeliCa system introduced earlier this year in Japan by NTT DoCoMo.
Phones with the NFC technology can replace not only credit cards, but also key cards and ID cards. To conduct a transaction, the phone is simply placed within two inches of a PayPass reader."
