Camera phones donated to Child Advocacy Center

Cingular Wireless has donated nine Motorola camera phones to the Child Advocacy Center on Spring Hill Avenue (Alabama) to be used in the investigation of crimes against children, according to al.com.

"The cellular telephone company also donated one year of free air time along with the new camera phones.

Center Director Pat Guyton said the Motorola camera phones will be used to take pictures at crime scenes involving children, which will then be transmitted to other law enforcement officers or the district attorney's office.

Those who investigate crimes against children often are "called out at all times of the day and night, going to hospitals and homes," Guyton said. "They need to document what they see, and these new state-of-the-art, Motorola camera phones will help the investigators."
