Hi-tech phones sent TV channels

Nine broadcast transmitters are to be used around Oxford (UK) with 500 O2 customers testing the mobile phone with built-in digital television receiver, reports the BBC.

"Customers will be offered 16 channels when the scheme begins in spring 2005.

The trial, announced by O2 and NTL's Broadcast Division on Friday, is said to be the UK's first practical test of multi-channel television on mobiles. "
