Camera Phones Making Corporations Photo-Sensitive

In an article on the rising security risks of camera phones and how corporations should work on new security policies, TechNews World describes some novel ways these handsets could be put to bad use:

-- A thief could snap and transmit photos, such as the location of surveillance cameras and alarms, for a break-in.

-- A disgruntled employee could send images of a new product to a competitor.

-- A competitor could take pictures of a retailer's manufacturing floor, warehouse or distribution center, and then develop a more efficient design.

"Corporate security teams have been focused on preventing the next big virus from overrunning their networks and therefore have not been paying much attention to potential security problems stemming from camera phones," said Peter Lindstrom, Research Director at Spire Security, a market research firm focusing on security issues."
