Lawmakers try to keep pace with high-tech Peeping Toms
A new breed of Peeping Toms who use hidden cameras and cellular phones face greater scrutiny from state lawmakers, reports The Daily Herald.
"Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is urging the closing of a legal loophole in videotaping law - which requires proof of recording to prosecute - and does not address newer technology that enables live video transmission over the Internet.
[...] The proposal updates the old law by making it illegal to engage in such practices without a person's consent in such private places as hotels, restrooms, locker rooms, tanning salons and someone else's home".
