High school student takes camshot of teacher slapping a classmate

Last month, a high school teacher in South Korea was fired for punching a female student in the face. A classmate shot the incident with a camera phone and disseminated the pictures on the Internet, reports The Straights Times, reigniting a controversy over corporal punishment.

In July of last year, in a junior college in Singapore, a student reportedly used a camera phone to film a teacher berating a classmate for a poorly written paper and tearing up the student's work. In this case there were several different issues debated; the teacher's outburst, the student's behaviour in putting the incident on film and finally, his use of the Internet to air the case for further discussion. cf Student films teacher berating classmate .
