Well, It Ain't TV...
David Pogue of NY Times reviews the MobiTV offering from Sprint PCS...he comes to the conclusion that it is not anything like the TV-experience, for the simple fact that the image on your mobile changes only once every couple of seconds. (Contrast with regular TV, which flashes 30 images per second to create video.)
Yet incredibly, MobiTV works, according to Pogue. "Your brain is so used to watching regular TV that it fills in the visual blanks. The format, the sound, the lighting, the timing, those weird newscaster vocal inflections-- it's all so familiar that the low frame rate isn't nearly as annoying as you would expect."
