BBC using 3G video phones for news

BBC teams in Bristol and London have found a way to send video and sound from video phones and to broadcast them to television. Howard Rheingold on Smart Mobs has been granted permission to reprint the article by Andrew Harvey on Ariel, the staff magazine and daily news online service of the BBC.

"Television takes a decisive step into new territory this week when a programme will be broadcast by BBC Bristol using 3G video mobile phones as cameras. [...]"
