Photorazzi.com and Paparazzi 101
Photorazzi is a well established digital photographic press agency for celebrity sighters. They pay amateurs or genuine photographers for taking pictures of celebrities and sending them in, either by disc, or electronically, for superfast turnaround times. Nothing is mentioned specifically about pictures sent in from camera-enabled cell phones, so I've sent in an e-mail to find out. Check back later!
Paparazzi 101
The BBC has an interesting article dating a while back, on celebrity snapper Jack Ludlam, where he gives advice on where to go and how to go about finding celebrity action (in London), but tips are useful for any city.
BBC article also lists some fun facts:
-- The word 'paparazzi' is used to describe celebrity photographer
-- The term paparazzi word is derived from the name of a character called Paparazzo in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960).
-- After the movie was released, the word paparazzi became synonymous with intrusive photographers who chase the stars.
-- The word 'paparazzi' literally means 'buzzing insects'.
