Picture Phones As Loyalty Devices

Mobile operators are hoping that "cool" tools like picture phones will help them keep their subscribers in the U.S., after the Nov. 24 debut of a regulation that lets customers switch freely between carriers and keep the same number, according to NY Post.

"I love it," said Max MacKenzie, a 39-year-old real estate developer with a Sprint PCS Sanyo clamshell. "It's a picture phone; I can add audio, send it to my friends and keep photos in my own storage space on the Internet," he noted, adding that his girlfriend has "phone envy" daily.
