Ambulance staffer takes picture of corpse with camphone

An employee of the Lincolnshire's ambulance service is under investigation for taking a photograph of a dead patient from a road traffic incident.

The staffer has been suspended from duty after it was discovered he had photographed a corpse from a road accident with his mobile phone, reports the local newspaper, This is Lincolnshire.

Though the police has been notified (as well as the family) there will be no investigation as there is not evidence so far of a crime having been committed, such as posting the photograph on the Internet.

In a previous example of morbid behaviour, train passengers filed out of stopped carriages to snap pictures with their mobile phones of the body of a young man who committed suicide on the railway line. cf previous posting on The dark side of human nature .
