Picture Phones for Police Officers

According to an article in the Washington Business Journal, wireless communications company Nextel is offering a cell phone designed specifically for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

Police officers can run license plates or view mug shots and get critical data quickly. Information from database queries can be used to generate automatic alerts and calls for backup.
