Kuwait's National Assembly approves Bluetooth sanctions
Kuwait is the third Middle Eastern country (after the UAE and Saudi Arabia) in the last ten days, to have submitted or approved new legislation, heavily sanctioning the misuse of camera phones and Bluetooth technology.
The National Assembly's Legislative Affairs Committee approved on Saturday a governmental proposal to place stricter sanctions on misusing the feature of Bluetooth wireless technology, reports the Kuwait News Agency.
"Sanctions include two-year imprisonment or a heavy fine for taking pictures without the knowledge or consent of others, five-year imprisonment for illegal distribution and sharing these pictures, and 10-year imprisonment for using them as means of extortion and other immoral practices."
