Cameraphones in aid of red squirrels
Naturalist David Bellamy is backing a campaign launched today to harness mobile phone technology in a bid to save the endangered red squirrel, reports the New Scotsman.
"Nature lovers are being urged to take pictures of red and grey squirrel with their phones to help conservationists chart the creatures‚ movement and population.
The initiative is being organised by the Scottish Borders Tourist Board to
mark red squirrel week, which runs until Friday.
Anyone who manages to take a picture of a squirrel is asked to e-mail the
image to kleithead@scot-borders.co.uk with details of time and location.
