3D printer part of plot of latest CSI: episode

Last night's episode of CSI: (Season 13: Episode 09) led to the uncovering of a murder weapon that turned out to be made with a high end 3D printer — and tracing the printer led to the criminal.

An interesting twist in the plot: trace found unpolymerized resin and calcium carbide, which caused an allergic reaction on the hands of the shooter. Leading David Hodges to state: "plastic guns are not for everyone".
